Default Monkeys are in!

All the parts came in this week for my 12" Monkey bars. Fairing is back from painter. I have everything off the bike, ready to start wiring these bars. Kids have baseball games this morning, then pics afterwards, so gotta do the family thing first. Wife wants date night tonight also. I told her to have fun, just don't bother me when she gets in! lol But, man I am chomping at the bit to get these things on! Hopefully I'll have these mounted tomorrow, probably not, but wish me luck! I'll get some pics when they're done.

I know your chopping at the bit and I would be too. But their are only so many of those games and theres nothing worse than regrets when they are older. Been thinking about those on my king be sure to show us some pics.

Have fun! Here's a few tips. You may not need them. Disregard if that is the case. No original ideas on my part just tips I used from this forum when doing mine.

Be careful with the ignition. Its a btch if you screw that up.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...h-removal.html

Either cut and solder around the TBW plug or get the TBW with the plug at the bottom. It sucks to try to pull that through.

Don't heatshrink the wires so tight that they become wadded up or inflexible.

Lube, Lube, LUBE!

Lube some more!

Carefully write down the wiring in the molex plugs (the molex tool is helpful)

Check your wiring with the schematic in the service manual before buttoning it up.

Check your wiring.

Change to poly bushings while you have it apart.

If you have ABS get the brake fluid flowing freely through the line (without having to squeeze the lever before connecting the line). Use a big baggy to catch the fluid. Put a little fluid in the hole in the ABS Module. Assemble then flick the lever to get any remaining bubbles out the to at the MC. No bleeding required. No ABS codes.

Get long ball socket drive allens for removing the clutch cover and the radio. You don't have to drain the tranny. Park the bike on a 2x12 and lean over on side stand. Grease the little holes in the actuator for the *****. Don't over tighten the clutch cable to the cover.

I know the manual says to pull ign switch and radio, but a trick to doing it ,coming from a wrench,is to remove the 2 screws from the switch cover remove the light bar, outer fairing, crome fork cover, then just lift up and pull inter fairing back(towards front tire), this will expose the handle bar bolts, 3 times faster and easyer,,

Or you can get a ready made extension for the TBW at NAMZ or someplace:
