Default How low will it go?

I have a beautiful 02 EGC for sale(see in classified section)below blue book with upgrades and many mechanical features. No interest at all.Took it to dealers averaged 7400 on a trade in for a sporster? While at one of the dealers a couple came in and bought a ratty 2000 Ultra for 10900 and were tickled pink?My price is 9500,I don't find that out of line.My question is,I'm not strapped for cash, don't owe any money on the bike,if I just store it 'in grease' will it depreciate more.

It has taken me on average 3-4 months to sell a bike and that was before economy crashed. Sometimes no calls for weeks at a time. The dealer has an advantage because some, if not all of them finance used bikes. Don't worry and be patient. It will sell. Seems like a fair price. Good luck.

I can relate to what you're sayin'.
I had $20 K in my softail before I decided to get an SG.
The dealer didn't want it or he did want it to steal it but he didn't really want it, make sense?
I think that you have to know how/where to market your bike.
There is an outfit here where I live in Rapid City that acts as a dealer of used motorcycles, Atv's, dirt bikes, scooters, and so forth. They get on the average of $500 to sell your bike for you. It costs a $100 bucks to list it with them, and you leave your bike with them. They do not let anyone take joy rides.
They start it up for them and that's about the extent of it.
None the less I thought that I should have gotten at least $9.5 bottom line for my 99 fxstc, and listed it for 9199, but had no serious bites. Dropped it down to $8599 and someone bought it. I got $8.2 - the hundred it cost to list it, so $8.1.

Did I need the $, well no not really but could always use it and did to pay down some debt. Question is, would I be happy just letting it sit in my garage and taking it out like a vintage hot rod, well yeah, I guess. But I figured I might as well pay down some debt and let someone else have some joy with it too. So I figure I took at least a $1500 dollar beatin', but that's the way she goes... when trying to sell an older used bike these days..
