That's a polite way of saying, "take your business elsewhere".

to answer your question no, thats not too high! I mean yes its high, but that is what they are getting and it is very time consuming! I paid the dealer 8 hours to do my yaffee's and I was fine doing that... there is too much that can go wrong and you have to know what you are doing... good luck with you choice!

How difficult is it to install and does 9 hours seem like an inflated labor time?
I just changed my own bars and can tell you straight up , it's not hard at all. This is my first HD and have never went this far working on my bike. It's taken me more than 9 hours because I have changed my mind a few times and have been stuck waiting for parts ordered online. If you have a service manual, basic hand tools, and some patience, your good to go!

This is what I did.....

Changed stock bars on EGS to Wild1 0577B (12.5") Internally wired
Added cruise control
Added Hawgwired universal radio control adaptor
Changed clutch and brake lines to Magnum black pearl +6
No wire extensions needed

Do it yourself! I've learned soo much about my bike by doing this myself.

Believe me, I was on the fence just like you. I just decided to take the plunge one day and am very glad I did it myself.

I never soldered a wire in my life but successfully installed 16" apes on my 2009 RK along with extended cables. It was a winter project so couldn't tell you how many hours in total.
Patience is the key.....and beer

No wire extensions? I'm amazed. I put 575 bars on last winter, and was able to move stuff around to go without extending any wires. Your 577 bars (which I should have gotten in the first place) are (IIRC) 2" taller than the 575s. I don't remember there being that much slack. Is your bike TBW?

Dammit, I think you just cost me a new set of bars....

I did not need to extend wires on my 13" bars. I just rerouted the connections under the radio and had plenty of room. I also have the TBW

Same here. WO 577"s +6 clutch and brake. No wire extensions. TBW even went back in stock location in the fairing
