Default oxygen sensors?

Wondering if leaving them in the pipe unplugged will screw them up for later use? I have them in the pipe but unplugged using a pcv and noticed that they are black sooty. I figured that i would leave them in as i will try a se tuner in the future.

It is the same exhaust going by if they were plugged in...I left mine in to use in case the PCV goes **** up. Can't imagine a problem.

I woudn't leave them in. They operate at temps of 600 + degrees to keep them from getting fouled. Pull them out and go to your local Toyota dealer and ask for P/N 90341-18016. This will get you a Toyota truck oil pan drain plug which will thread right in to an O2 bung. They're only a couple of bucks a piece. Use some high temp RTV on the threads (they don't come with a gasket) and you'll be all set. This is for the larger of the two types of O2 sensors, not the smaller ones. The later model HD's (11's and maybe even '10's) have the smaller ones. As a side note...I know people who have left there's in and unplugged, and had to use a propane torch to burn the carbon off when they've decided to hook them up again. (Yeah, it's low buck...but it works) LOL

the plugg doesnt supply heat so i dont get why they would run any colder or foul, unless the map on the pc was way rich.

Default Leave them in

No damage occurs whether plugged in or not. Also, if your fuel management system quits, then you can just unplug it and reconnect the stock ecm and sensors.

Actually, the 2011 sensors are heated, but I still doubt it will hurt them to leave them in.
