Default Carlini Bag Drag Bars

New to the forum, first time poster. Great source of information from you all.

Quick question, does anyone have Carlini Bag Drag handlebars and if so, do they use them with a shield? I have an 06 RK Custom which I think these bars would be great for but am afraid they might look odd with the shield. If anyone has any pics, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Default Picture for suggestions - Handlebars

Here is a photo of my bike. Any handlebars suggestions would be great. I mainly do not like the wheelbarrel effect of the stock bar. I have never had a bike where the grips were coming nearly straight back like these are.

Hey, I'm doing some research on handlebars and ran across this post by kylew. It appears that nobody ever replied to it, and since I'm looking at these Bag Drag Carlini bars for my RK, I thought I'd re-post to see if anyone has anything to add.

Any pics of Carlini handlebars? www.carlinidesign.com

Thanks, Mike

Kind of offsubject, but yet not.... why do they call them Bag Drag bars? They're more like beach bars.

I think they are sort of a hybrid between beach bars and drag bars. Similar width and pullback to classic bars, but with a more aggressive angle on the grips like a drag bar. They seem like something that would work well for those of us coming from bikes that have a flatter angle bars.

I think you're right on with that. I love the looks of them, the width and the pullback looks good, I'm just a little worried that they don't have enough rise. I don't want them sitting in my lap.

It would be nice if there was a visual comparison with the OEM bars. The dimensions Carlini is reporting are different than the OEMs, but it looks to me that they are measured differently. ie, the OEMs are measured from the centers, the Carlini's are measured from the outside diameter, the Carlinis are fatter, etc. , so it's hard to tell.

Anyway, the pics on Carlinis website are good, I just wish there were more.

Default Carlini bars

I have an 06 Road King Custom, and replaced the stock bars with carlini drag bars before i even picked it up from the dealer. I think my bars have an 8 or 9 in rise on them, but the small chrome wind deflector had to be removed to make them fit. They look great, but I wouldnt recommend going with Carlini from my experience. Within a year of having the bike (which was always stored and pampered) the chrome in the areas of the welds on the bars started to rust. When I brought it to the dealer they told me Carlini should replace the bars because they were defective, but when I called Carlini all I got was an attitude and they did not stand behind their product. I don't have any experience with any of the other brands out there to know if they are any better, but just thought I would share my experience. Maybe I just got a bad set of bars as far as the rust goes, but the drag bars on a RK do look great in my opinion.

im sorry to hear you had a bad dealing with Carlini. I have had just the opposite. I had a similar issue as you with a set of Clean sweeps on my 05 roadking. He sent me a new set and allowed me to send the defected set back to him once i changed out the bars.

He also allowed me to change riser height no questions asked. I went from 7 inch to 5 inch.

I have dealt with Carlini on multiple handlebars and risers. i have never had an issue with the company. they have been more than helpful to me...
