I have a 2005 CVO Electra glide, i changed the gear to the Bakers OD6, i traveled on it for 4000 KM , the only problem i had was that the speed gave me 20KM less than my actual speed. After the 400KM the bike started acting wierd , if i stood at a traffic light and gave it full speed when it goes green, it would backfire rapidly and hardly accelerate, however if i lower the throttle it would stop back firing and lift off. I also noticed that when the RPM is bellow 3000 and i decide to race, it would back fire and would be slow. but if the RPM is higher than 3000 , i wouldnt have that problem. I have a PCMIII instaled and i dyno tested it, they tried to fix the problem , but it still has the same issue when i drove it ?
Can any one help ?
Could be a number of things............ Dirty air filter, not providing enough air when accelerating Bike getting too much fuel, drowning detonation during acceleration Charging system not providing enough spark(bad plugs?)
I’m leaning toward the carb/fuel injection is your problem
