I just traded in my 06 SG for an 11 RGU so here goes. I am 5'11".
1.) Have any of you RG owners had to rotate the handlebars down to get a better arm position/reach? Or did you have to do additional mods (saddle replacement, new bars, etc...) to get the bike dialed in?
MG - Yes I changed the bars out to Heritage because the stock bars had me reaching too far. Was a great decision.
2.) Any issues with the RG fairing as far as gauge visibility or radio access?
MG - I can see the guages just fine. I cant reach the radio while driving but shouldnt be anyway
3.) Is the RG a clear winner vs. the SG when it comes to highway stability in windy conditions and/or slow speed maneuvering?
MG - I loved my SG, but honestly, it just cant compare to the 11 RGU. The RGU rides like its on rails. Handles like a dream during high and slow speed and comes with the 103. The only comment I would make is it is the heaviest bike Harley makes now so backing it up and manhandling it around aint easy.
Do whats right for you but you wouldnt regret getting and RGU or RGC.
Road Glides suck. They look like wanna be goldwings. They are ugly and stupid. Don't by one. Everyone will make fun of you. Only old guys ride road glides.

Seriously, are you speaking from experience or is this
something you read on the bathroom walls ??
I purchased my 2011 Road Glide Custom about 3 months ago and I'm pleased to have it. Don't get me wrong, any Harley is a treat. I'm definitely going to change out my bars and seat, in the near future.
I'm trading in my 05 Deuce on an 06 RG, put the deposit down and hope to pick it up Friday. Since I live in Ohio I have to plan around snow storms. I got it from a dealer about 150 miles away and have to trailer both bikes. Winter sucks!!
