I thought my black '10 Road King was the best and most beautiful (stock) bike in the world. Then I saw an '11 Road Glide. I wanted all the toys, so I ordered and waited for a Road Glide Ultra. My RK was better looking, and the RGU doesn't get the "respect" -- waves -- that the RK got, but for me the 'Glide is by far the better bike. I have very short legs, so I had the dealer add the nitro rear shocks and the lower front shocks. Stock saddle works fine. On the road, passing trucks and busses don't blow the 'Glide sideways as bad as they did the 'King. It is easier for me to get the 'Glide up off the side stand because the weight of the fairing and electronics is not on the handlebar. My only complaint is that I experience on the 'Glide buffetting of my 3/4 helmet that I did not have riding the 'King. I am trying to find the magazine that replaced the stock windshield with a differently shaped aftermarket shield. Harley supposedly has a better shield on the CVO Road Glide, but I am told that that shield is 2 or 3 times more expensive than the aftermarket one. BOTTOM LINE: I love my Road Glide, and can't imagine replacing it.

Default Clearview Shields for the RG

Hi, came across your thread and wanted to make sure you knew about Clearview Shields. We just celebrated our 25th year in business and our Road Glide windshields receive very good reviews from riders around the world. Our shield has a steeper slope than stock bringing you closer to the windshield. Also, with our recurve option, you can choose a shorter shield but still get the protection you are looking for.

Take a look at our site or give me a call - I'd love to discuss it further.

Have a great day

The only issue with a Roadglide (which carries over to the Road King too) are the handlebars. Once you change them to something more comfortable you'll never ride anything else.

Have had both batwing and sharknose, I'm sticking with the roadglide and not going back. Of coarse everybody has ther own preference and you have to do what's best for you.

I've had both as well and liked them equally. They both have pros and cons, I'd suggest getting whichever is most comfortable for you. Regardless of which one you'll still be on a bagger!

Thanks John for replying on that. Can you imagine, a motorcycle possibly getting wet?!! and all that wind too!!

Say, troll. Maybe when you outgrow your big wheel you can get a motorcycle of your own.

Youth and enthusiasm is no match for age and treachery.

First of all welcome to the forum Bryan. There are many windshields to help with buffering. The stock shield (bug deflector) on the RG custon
to me felt like someone beating my ears with ping pong paddles. The Klock Werks Shield helped 1000 persent. On the forum you will find alot of different ideas on what shield to get. There are better shields out there than MOCO will sell you.

Joe

Handle bars are made to be changed, MOCo must put on the worst bars on purpose. That is why I am changing mine.
