Now that it's getting colder and I'm gearing up, I'm finding it difficult to see around me for vehicals coming up behind me. Is there an optional stem or extension to move the mirror out?
Take a look at the Kuryakyn Magnums if you're interested in an upgraded look. The stems are about an inch longer than stock and the mirror head is a little larger as well. I have them on my Road Glide and really like them.
I put the harley extensions on and took them off after 1 day. I did not like how they Looked and did not help me much. I like the looks of those magnums.

The Harley catalogue has what you want. And, yes, they are called "Long Stem Mirrors". They look exactly like stock mirrors only they are longer, so you can see past your shoulders. If your dealer does not have them on the shelf it is probably because they do not know they are available, But, they are definitely in the catalogue. I bought mine a year ago after the parts guy told me they don't make what I was looking for. The mirror extensions are for the most part worthless. I think my mirrors were $35.00 each.
I'm 6' 6" 250# and got tired of seeing my shoulders. I'm using some of these mirror extenders from Grady's and don't see my shoulders anymore.
Still able to keep and use my stock mirrors, but cut off some of the thread to clear the handles.
