can anyone tell me what windsheild to gt ,trying to gt rid of wind buffing. i have treid a 12in, windvest ,12in, kw, had a eg didnot have that problem with it.
i have had them all. get a v-stream in one of the 2 taller sizes. i am 6'1" and have the tall. i look thru it. would like to try the next shorter one but am happy with no buffeting. also had a clearview and it was good but v-stream is the best bar none imho...ride safe
Clearview has worked well for me on my 09. Proper height is important.
There is a new factory wind deflector that comes on the '11 RGU CVO that fits between the forks. It can be ordered as a separate part, and I believe fits other RGs (perhaps only newer ones?). I think it cost around $30.
It has been getting good reviews and I plan on adding one soon.
I finally settled on the Clearview SM. It's 1" or 2" shorter than stock. I'm 6'2", but it works for me well as I like to look well over the windshield. I don't get any of the buffeting others have complained about on here, but I do like a little wind in my face. After all, we are riding motorcycles.
I've tried the KW and Cee Bailey, HATED both of them. Stock height Clearview has the flip on top and slightly wider. It's the only windshielf that I've tried that seems to improve on the stock shield. The windshields like the KW and Cee Bailey (in my opinion) look great, but do not work well; they are form over function.
When I rode RG's (I had two) I toured with a 15" shield, I think it was a HD shield. It was the only one I tried that worked fairly well and its because it was so tall.
Just look at a RG profile compared to a batwing faired bike or even a RK, the windshield is waaaaay out in front on the RG and its inevitable that the wind burble will be more pronounced at that seat distance.
I just used a 15" for touring and a short shield with a full faced helmet for local riding, one exteme or the other seemed best for me for wind turbulence tolerance.
I am right at six ft.
