Trailers?
Had my Ultra for a couple of years before I (...my wife) began thinking of a trailer for her STUFF. Chose to buy an American Legend. First "Big" week long trip was to the Carolina's and back home to southeast Texas. Then later to Washington state and down Hwy 1 to San Diego and home, 30 days and don't remember how many miles. Of course my wife flew into Porland and home from San Diego but we loved the convenience of being able to carry eveything we needed for any kind of weather. And I almost forgot, plenty of her
STUFF!![:@] We always use it for mare than a weekend trip.
Of course everything about trailering applies, allow yourself more distance for starts and stops, watch your weight vs. suspension etc and enjoy your trip!

I've been using a trailer since 1999, It's a Time-out DART with the cooler in the nose, love it. Sort of like American Express, never leave home without it
As for hitches, I've always used a Kuryakyn or Krome Werks, never removed anything using these......
Use some common sense when using a trailer, much like behind your car, allow a little extra room, careful pulling out of service stations ( the dips in the roads)....
Another issue, when connecting to your wiring, use something like the connector from J&P, no splicing, plug and play for a clean installation, plus, you can remove the connection and no one will ever know it was there...
As for trailer brands....go with one of the bigger companies, Bushtec, American Legend, Escapade, Timeout, etc.....the car replicas are cool too.

I have had a bushtec trailer now for a couple of years. (see link)

Really love the trailer and it lives up to its hype of being one of the best made trailers out there.

Bushtec and some others ( escapade, American legend, ...) are fine trailers, some of the best...first time trailers may want to look at some less expensive models, the Star lite model for around 899.00 make a great first trailer, and any trailer is easy to sell.....

most of the time, if your turn signals flash fast, it's a ground issue, using the above I have no issues with the trailer lights or signals

I would recommend if you buy a 2007 Harley you don't hook
your trailer lights up untill you find a way to get the turn
signals working without hooking them into your wiring harness.
The 2007's have no flasher in them the turn signals are flashed
through the ECU (engine control unit) which I did not know so
I pluged my 2007 Ultra Classic into my trailer and everything
works great.
UNTIL!
You unplug the trailer and find out your turnsignals now flash 4
flashs as normal, then they start flashing like a strobe light.
I do not know what the fix is yet and neither does my dealer
when I know I will post it for you, but until then my advice is
don't hook your trailer lights up to a 2007 Harley.

ENGINES COMPUTER!!!!
THERE IS NO FLASHER ON THIS 2007 Harley TURN SIGNALS ARE RUN BY COMPUTER
NOT A FLASHER!

I HOPE YOU GUYS WITH A 2007 Harley ARE PAYING ATTENTOIN HERE???
READ MY POST AND HEED THIS WARNING!!!!
Being this is important to 2007 Harley owners I'll put it bacto the top!

Buy a Bushtec or an Escapade. I have towed a Bushtec for 16 years behind four different motorcycles. I think it's the best trailer on the market. It's always amazed me why someone would go out and pay 20K+ for a bike and then buy a $350 trailer to pull behind it. Don't make that mistake. Bushtecs and Escapades are big bucks but you'll know you've got the best that's made. Of course I'm partial to the personal service that you get from John, Sally and Andrew Preston. Trust me, they are the leaders.

Yeah, and I bet they won't cover it under warranty either, since the 'Official' policy of The MoCo appears to be anti-trailer. Hope you didn't Zap the ECU. How does the bike run after the 'event'? Any hiccups?
