I changed all fluids for the first time today [just bought the bike] so bare with me.
Everything was changed by way of the owners manual, I haven't gotten a service manual yet.
Manual says 3.5 qt for motor. Check on jiffy stand. After filling, dip stick read at half, right where it should be cold.
After riding I let it set an cool [I know I should have checked it hot also] and checked again. Then it read low.
Does the owners manual take into acount the oil filter amount?
It looks like it may take several more oz. But don't want to over fill.
Has anyone else found this?
Thanks
After filling with oil it is a good idea to run the bike then check heated oil. It should come up to or close to the fill hot mark on you stick. Make sure you completely insert the stick then read.
Be careful not to add too much oil. If the oil isn't below the fill mark your okay. If my oil reads past the half way mark, cold, then it will start to blow out the air cleaner.

This means you must screw the stick all the way down!
Got it fellas.
Took her out and got her up to temp.
Checked it hot and was still at the add. Added just enough to
bring it up to just over half. Should be good to go.
Thank you.
Yes a service manual will be on the way soon.
Parts manual to.
