I cant say I have any problems with mine. In fact mine has less engine and tranny noise than my 03 fatboy and my 06 Ulltra. Not to mention sooo much more pwer from the 110.
I have to agree as well! This bike (Ultra Classic) is AWSOME except for the noisy 5th gear. I ran it two up all day on saturday through the texas hill country. As a matter of fact it is at it's best going 70-75mp in 6th gear @ ~2200 RPM. But on some of the 55mph roads it's unnerving to hear all that racket over the pipes and wind noise. I thought you were supposed to hear a whining noise in 5th (like I hear in 1st) because of the straight cut gears, but there is so much clatter in 5th you cant hear the whine. I'm taking it in for 1000 mile checkup next week. Will log a complaint with the dealer and keep on riding it, because above all else it is a great bike!
Just one side note, I stopped in at another dealership on Friday to ask about the noise. The service manager whipped out a bulletin from HD (that he had highlighted with a yellow highliter) to prove to me that it is the way it's designed. He had it stashed right on the service desk.
Glad to hear all is well , I think some guys are making something out of nothing as far as the sound , still have not heard of any real problems as far as a breakdown , or real problems . Just some guys whining and bit**in
I am really loving my 07 RG too now that it is not dieing on me. Damn, I hope I didn't just jinks myseflt.....[sm=icon_quiet.gif]
Only problem i have is that I don't want to get off the bike.........
I've been having the same problem cant get off the dam thing ,took the "l o n g" way home today from work took a 2 and a half hour ride. LOL . My wife was starting to worry.

So because your bike runs great, everyone who is having this problem is just bit**in.
Maybe your a real biker, and the people with the problem are just wannabee's, who don't know how real Harley's are supposed to ride.
This is my 6th HD and I am not happy with the sounds comming from my bike. Maybe I'm just bit**in.
I am just trying to find out if any 07 owners have had a problem with the bike other than the sound , that has required service or breakdown . Seems a lot of guys have a gripes but I have not heard anything as far as needing work done on them.
I agree a 100% . I traded an 05 RoadKing that made a lot more noise than my new Utra does. I get very little noise differance in 5th then any other gear. Love the 07...
I haven't had a failure yet, but trust me it sounds horrible and is not a "normal"sound. My dealer has had many complaints and they document every one. I was at my dealer Friday taking advantage of a 20% off sale and checked for any updates on the sound. They said that they are getting more "rocks in a can" complaints everyday, but so far HD has told them nothing.
