Default Touring Stabilizers

Have an 05 FLHT. A friend wants to installa stabilizer he started carrying. I've never had the dreaded wobble everyone speaks of, but then again I ride like a wuss. It does feel unstabe in a long sweeper though, and if I was going faster who knows. Anyhow, he says the bike will turn better, not feel so loose in turns etc. Also, it tends to "shimmy" on the highway, which I ride a lot. Will a stabilizer help that?

Any stabilizer will get the job done, but good tires and maintenence items like neck bearings, swingarm bearings, and alignment need to be right also.

+1 on above. However, I have done all the required work and keep my bike VERY well maintained, and it still had the wobble. Exactly like you describe... not feeling solid in a long sweeper and a highway shimmy. I put on a Tru-track the summer of 2004. Now have 80K miles on the bike and never had any issues for the past 6 years. I say... DO IT. Of course, YMMV.

My bikes in good shape, and I waited two years before I put on the Bagger Brace, and only because the wife bought it. but I can tell a difference, the ride is much more stable especially in the curves and grooved roads. Plus, it a well made unit.

Another Two-Track kit here, in fact two of them, one on my Glide, the other on my Dyna. Both bikes greatly improved, more stable even in a straight line. You don't have to go racing to feel the benefit.

Progressive stabilizer here seems to do the job well.
