Default Flush Mount Axle Cap Kit question

Anyone knows the torque spec to tighten the axle before "locking" it with the cap when using these kits?
On my '08 EGlide with ABS I tightened the axle 'till it locked and then tightened the cap bolts but now I'm concerned that I may have tightened it too much as I am getting a "howling" sound coming from the front of the bike when going beteween 40mph and 50mph, slower or faster than that and and the sound disappears.
I had my local dealer mount a new tire (E3) and bearings at the same time I got the axle/cap kit.

Many thanks!

I don't remember right off hand the torque value but it may be that E3...

If it makes you feel any better I've cranked the crap out of mine plenty of times and did not end up with a howl; however, when I ran E3s on my last bike...plenty of howl.

Its the dunlop making the noise. I have the E3's on my street glide and I do get a noise between 50 and 60 --- sort of like a 'howling'.

Also --- forgot to mention that I do have a flush axle on the bike --- torqued it to the spec in service manual --- I cant recall the value right now.

+1 on the E3 50mph mine howls also. I like that flush look , I am guessing that is HD since you said dealer put it on?

Sorry to say it but it's your new E 3. That's really the only downside of this tire.

That's going to be either:
Adjure
Klock
Fat Baggers

HD doesn't offer this axle.

Probably made by the same company and repackaged for each one!

Axel itself Klock recommends 45 ft lbs not 50 ft lbs like HD.
Axel cap is 5-11 ft lbs.
