Talk to riders who have owned the same bike for 6-10 years who put 12-15,000...or more miles/year. They have a better perspective of maintenance/repairs than those who trade up every 1-2 years.
A new 7 year labor contract means a happy group slapping your new bike together. Hot off the presses from the Journal Sentinel.
"There would be no limit on the number of casual, temporary employees Harley could use at any given time. But they would be limited to no more than 30% of the total, regular bargaining-unit hours worked in a year, according to the proposed contract with the United Steelworkers of America Local 2-209 and Steelworkers Local 460."
"Casual employees would not be entitled to medical or retirement benefits. Their employment could be terminated without cause, and they would not be guaranteed shifts, jobs or a minimum number of work hours.
Casuals would not receive any paid time off. They may be required to work holidays, but they would not receive special holiday pay."
Thank you for all your responses,,Summer is staring over here and i just came back from a 2 loong days trip to the country side,,,As i said b4 ,I LOVE MY HARLEY and she give me nothing but good moments,,
I read one of your replies and didnt noticed the amount of members this forums has ..wow!..ride safe and cheers! Im heading to have some beers with friends and spend the rest of the night talking about girls, harleys and rockn roll!
What always cracks me up is on another local non-model specific car/bike forum I read a lot, everyone will ****-talk the quality of HD's, but then proceed to start thread after thread about all the problems they're having with their Hondas & Yamahas.
It pisses them off when I chime in that I've had 3, now 4 Harleys over the last 10 years and the ONLY problem I've every had with any of them was a bad batch of head gaskets on my first bike, that manifested the first month I had it & was fixed in just a couple hours at the dealership.
And I ride just as "hard" as any of them do.

I do not believe the 7yr wage freeze MoCo forced on the employees will equate to "A happy group" slapping new bikes together!
Let's hope they are not so pissed off with their new contract that they take it out quality wise on the new bikes.....mine was supposed to be built last week
