Talk to riders who have owned the same bike for 6-10 years who put 12-15,000...or more miles/year. They have a better perspective of maintenance/repairs than those who trade up every 1-2 years.

Welcome to winter, when everyone complains on the boards rather than going riding.

The Chinese laborer may have it better.

What always cracks me up is on another local non-model specific car/bike forum I read a lot, everyone will ****-talk the quality of HD's, but then proceed to start thread after thread about all the problems they're having with their Hondas & Yamahas.

It pisses them off when I chime in that I've had 3, now 4 Harleys over the last 10 years and the ONLY problem I've every had with any of them was a bad batch of head gaskets on my first bike, that manifested the first month I had it & was fixed in just a couple hours at the dealership.
And I ride just as "hard" as any of them do.

I do not believe the 7yr wage freeze MoCo forced on the employees will equate to "A happy group" slapping new bikes together!

I would agree that there are problems created by the owner/riders but saying that most of the problems are self inflicted is a bit exagerated I think.

None of the issues I have and still having are related to anything I've done.
