You dyno numbers look good compared to stock. I have a 2009 SG and need a boost in power. I was considering the same 103" kit, SE 255 cams, and stage 1 air cleaner kit.
How is your fuel mileage now after the kit is installed? You still have some break in mileage to go. More displacement should result in a lower fuel mileage, just wondering?...
I have the 103 Stage 2 on my 07 and the fuel mileage is close to when it was stock. I dropped about 2 to 3 MPG on the interstate cruising at 80+ but around town and during spirited riding in the Ozarks the mileage is almost as good as stock, 40 to 43 MPG. The bike performs so much better that it was worth the slight decrease in MPG.
man that's a lot of bang for the buck. if you're going with the 10.5 forged pistons you may want to take a look at the 259-E cams. .579" lift and they develop that great torque but throughout the rev range rather than just on the low and mid range. they're screamin eagle cams and are made by competition cams. i bet your red bike is going to like the upgrade.
My mileage dropped 1 MPG (now get39 MPG). I could not believe it considering the big gains in power. Even my wife could feel the improvement, especially in the hills.
I also have a K & N air filter and monster ovals....I have always been disappointed with the sound of my MOs until this upgrade. Now they sound great.
I just bumped my 88Ci to a 98Ci with Cams. Do you hear a ticking sound coming from your gas tank? I know the sound is coming from the cam or motor but it sounds like something is ticking in the tank...
No SFORAFF, I have not noticed any unusual sounds.
I know this has been done before with the 255 cams. What i want to know is that the compression should be really high with these cams and 103. or was there head work to lower it,I have the 103 kit and the andrews 26 cams and ended up with 89 cc heads.with .040 head gaskets just to get 9.2:1 Sorry to put this on your thread just wondering
I have the 103 stage 4 kit in my street glide. It runs like a wild ape man! Your gonna love the ride and so will the bike! I dynoed at 108hp and 98 ft tq. if that helps. I also switched the clutch plate. I have had no problems with the clutch at all
