I can see me doing a trike in a couple of years or so. it's not so much the years on my old body - it's the miles and other abuse - like too many parachute jumps on the knees and too many miles in the cockpit of an old Huey on my back.
not complaining - I wouldn't trade one minute of it for anything!
I saw those and was wondering something. If you are on a road where the asphalt is sunken in the tire tracks a lot, and the side wheels are on the high points, is there enough flx so that the drive wheel can do its job?
There's a spot that I ride over a lot where the tire track is at least 4-6 inches lower.
I've seen the "training wheel" set up on the road. They were 2 elderly riders (late 70s to mid 80s, god bless them, they're still riding). I did a little research and found a product called Ghost Wheels. http://www.trikealternative.com/ghostwheels.shtml When the time comes, this is the add-on product I would go for. Or, most likely a trike.
