Default Corbin vs Mustang?

Hi Folks,

Can anyone give an idea of the differences between a corbin and Mustang seat? Is one harder or softer than the other? I hear both names quite often and I'm looking for a replacement for my stock seat on my '11 ultra limited.

After I've riding for 2 or 3 hours my rear ends up sore and ends up with not only my but hurting but my thigh muscles as well.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Corbin makes a real nice seat. Not the softest seat around, but your butt doesn't hurt after a full day in the saddle. Also had a C&C solo for a while and that is another good one. Just remember, everybody will have their own opinion..best bet is to find someone who has it or sit on them at one of the rallies.

How do you manage to ride 3 hours? Usually after about 2 hours, I would have to fill up..

Anyway, it really depends on the individual. I hated the Mustang when I tried it because it was squishy and you float around. The Corbin Dual Tour I have now is firm, it keeps its shape and it keeps you where you have to be. If I could ride 3 hours slowly without filling up I think I won't have a problem.

Another guy will tell you sitting on a Corbin is like sitting on a wooden bench at a park.

I recommend the Harley Sundowner. I can do 2+ hours easily in that seat and I'm riding a Street Glide suspension. Here's a good thread on the Sundowner.

Corbin is a great seat, I have over 50,000 miles on my heated dual tour for my 08 Ultra Classic with no problems with the seat and no pain in the rear end or legs even on a 1000 mile plus day. I can't speak for the Mustang seat, I have never owned one. I am sure you'll really enjoy the Corbin.

I"ve had both Mustang and Corbin. The Mustang was softer, but the Corbin is more comfortable now that it's broken in. It's still pretty firm, but not uncomfortably so. It's very good on long rides. It also sits down and back a bit compared to the Mustang, and I prefer that as well.

I had a Mustang solo seat on my Road King Classic and currently have a Corbin Classic solo on my Ultra Classic. The Mustang was a bit more comfortable but I didn't like how it mounted. The Corbin is leather and more firm and has gotten a little softer the longer I use it. The Corbin is also much easier to mount and remove.

I searched alot and sat on numerous seats and finally went with the Danny Gray Solo seat. It put me in the saddle and not on top like a lot of seats I tried. I had a Mustang on my old ride and loved it but it when the Ultra Classic Electra Glide entered my life the Danny Gray won me over. My 2 cents worth!
