For that kind of coin I'd just as soon get a manual, buy the bars and do it myself.

Those that had a dealer do it - what did you pay?

Shouldn't need new cables as others have said...I was told that I would need a new throttle sensor but I guess that is standard for the HD people to say that. I was quoted somewhere in the 2-250 range to install the Heritage bars but that was from the parts guy, not service

Just put Heritage bars on my 04 flhrsi. Only had to change out the brake line. All other cables were reusable. The new brake line alone was $191.

You can bend the brake line enough to fit up to 12" mini apes, at least on older models like mine. Inside the nacelle, there are a couple of bends you can straighten out to give another inch or so...

agreed. i was able to use all my stock cables and brake line with 14 apes. just did some rerouting and then a little bending on the brake line.

Default Heritage Bars on '08 Road King

I had an '07 Heritage (could ride it for days), and recently traded it for a '08 Road King Classic. The RK was a used bike, and the previous owner installed beach bars with internal wiring. It looks great, but hurts the wrists on long rides. Probably will swap to Heritage bars. Since the '08 Road King has TBW, what year Heritage bars should I purchase? Keeping the wires internal is a "want", but not a "must have". Thanks

Don't know about the handlebar year... but the part # for my 2010 Road King with TBW was 56902-08. Make sure the throttle side has the notches for the TBW harness (maybe the -08 is the year?).

I got 56902-08 bars and these are notched. One dealer told me if you get the older set you'll have to cut the notches to accommodate the TBW.
