That proposed $100 fee for taking a peek/listening can turn into what you see below. Local steeler in Oregon. Wow, they must love me cuz' they game that sweet discount, taking it from +$1800 down to +$1500. Guess I'm a lucky guy...

What is even better, took the bike out and:
1. Didn't backfire (a fart here and there) before the work.
2. Now backfires a LOT.
3. Cuts out (loses power) at around 4000 RPM.
4. Several bolts/nuts not at torque spec.
5. Heat shield hose clamps finger tight only.

Moral of the story: Don't be like me and are afraid of trying to do this stuff yourself. Next time I will. I could send myself to mechanics school for this amount of money.

And what does the stealer have to say about this?

 

Unless I missed it, I didn't see where they did a SERT download or dyno'd the bike. All cam changes list updading the ECM codes and/or dyno'ing the bike for performance adjustments...

Or, just go for a fuel management unit. That should only cost about as much as the discount they gave ya...

I'm taking it back in there to have THEM figure out where the brand new O2 leak is causing the backfiring. Can't imagine it'd be the dyno as it wasn't doing it before?? Please edumacate me if I'm stoopid.

I NEVER let someone play with my bank account unless I authorize the expense, NEVER.
I see that there's a new tire on the bill. I don't think they would have replaced a tire without you asking so what did you authorize and what didn't you authorize?

 

Are you saying that you took it in to have them check a noise and without communicating with you, they did $1800 worth of work? I really find that hard to believe.
