Default Can you replace heated grips with something cooler

I have the 2010 limited with the heated grips and actually turned them on last week, I like the heated grip really helps with cold night riding, but I really dislike the drab black rubber grips. Can I change them out or am I stuck with them because they are heated

You can remove them and use your choice of grips but, they won't be heated.

Heated grips are available in all of the style groups but you'll have to pay the full price for them since they come as a complete set.

Or you can get a heater to go inside the bars and install any grips you want. That's what I did.

Here's a cheap solution for those pencil thin heated grips. If you like fat grips, you will really like these. I did not glue these on yet - need to finds some type of adhesive that will withstand the heat as well as be removeable easily when these things wear out. Going to try a little hairspray first and see how it holds. The heat transfers nicely through these.

Does anyhone know the answer to this? If I change my stock HD heated plain black grips for nicer HD heated grips from one of the HD styles, do I have to change the wiring all the into the fairing, or can I use the existing wiring and "plug" them in at the end of the bars?

My understanding is that you buy replacement Heated Grips (with wiring) that will replace stock grips and wiring from the old grips. You need to buy the complete assembly.
Kuryakyn makes this for Goldwing grips. It's a clamshell that fits over the existing grip. I don't think they make anything for harley. It would be nice if they did. It is an expensive, PIA I would think to change over the grips.
