First off I would like to thank Jamie at Fuel Moto for providing me with my stage 1 upgrade this past spring and my stage 2 upgrade that was just installed. And a big thank you to Roeder Racing LLC for installing my stage 2 upgrade which included the updated hydraulic cam chain tensioners, lifters and adjustable push rods and a tune. My cam chain tensioners had approx 500 miles left on them and the bike has just under 48,000 miles. I gained 10hp and 10 ft/lbs of torque. For those of you contemplating doing these cams in my opinion this is a great upgrade. I am attaching. The dyno chart.

I read and see all kinds of stuff on changing your cam. But what does it really give you?? I run on the highway at about 3000 rpm. That 95% of my driving. So for 5% of your driving your changing you cam? Even nominal running around town I'm lucky to hit 4000 rpm maybe 4200 Doesn't look like a cam really does make much difference until your over 4000. So yah it will help passing. But is it worth the $$$ and the extra wear and tear on the engine to get more power for passing?

What am I missing here?
Different riding styles require different cams. I ride similar to you & have the SE 255 cams and really like them. The TQ comes in real hard just of idle & stays strong to a little over 4000 RPM. Great for everyday riding, loaded & 2 up, pulling hills & passing! SE 255 take out's can be had regularly for about $150.00 and were one of the best upgrades I did to my bike! WELL worth the $$$! Try it, you'll like it! Especially in a big, heavy bagger.
I used the S&S 510G's and mine starts around 2400rpm to around 4400 which is great for the old lady and i as we're both bigger people. We ride 2 lane rural mostly and it's good to have the extra boost when passing, less use of 4th gear.
