Love my 2010 road king and I got it new with rinehart slipons and stage 1 aircleaner and download. Never got the rumble I expected from an air-cooled. (I'm an ex vrod horsepower addict trying to slowdowm).
Finally got to removing my cat today via cutting an access door in the collector under the heat sheild, digging out the catalyst then welding it back up. First off... what a crappy dusty wrist twisting job. Was wondering if it was going to be worthwhile until I started it back up. WOW. Now that sounds like a Harley!!! Took it for quik tour around the block and I friggin love it! I'm sure its still plenty lean (planning on a tuner anyway) but it doesn't seam to popon decel or have any hesitation when you crack it. In fact the bike definatly felt stronger and sharper. Cant recomend ditching the cat enough. Job worthwhile!!!
no pics, sorry. Been told that the 2int1into2 flows good enough with slip ons up to pretty high hp so I didnt wanna spend the money on a new header. Saw pics of somebody else doin the same job with the trapdoor idea so there are other pics out there. Love the sound!!!
Thanks for the complinent on bike choice. Would never have beleived how good these things handle without riding one. other than sheer tire smoking acceleration this thing blows away my old night rod special.
