Have all the gear. As to the jacket liner, cant see why one would buy the vest over the jacket. If its cold enough for a liner, I want my arms warm also. Have the socks and not the insoles. Do wonder if the insoles are better. Guess you wouldnt/dont feel the wires in the insole as much as you do with the socks. As to the pants, opted for the overpants instead of the pant liner. Better wind protection and can be taken off anytime it warms ups.
Warm and Safe jacket liner, W&S Ultimate Sport Touring gloves, and a W&S Dual Controller.
Don't get a vest, unless you want to mess with running wires down your arms for your gloves. Definitely get the Dual Controller.
I have the gloves and the jacket liner that I use with a dual thermostat, have worn this in the 20's and stayed warm. My biggest issue is the deer that like to come out when it gets that cold!!!!
My wife and I both have the Gerbing jacket liners and gloves. We also both have dual controllers--mine is hardwired into the fairing while hers is the portable model. I have had two problems with my gear-one was the plug on the jacket sleeve where the gloves plug in and the second was with the right glove plug. Happened about a year apart. Fortunately for me I live about 100 miles from Gerbings so I was able to ride down both times for an immediate fix. They are wonderful people to deal with. I did not have my warranty papers with me either time--no problems as they covered both under warranty since I was in their computer system. Within 20 minutes both times I was on my way. Absolutely wonderful customer service.....
Good Thread BadPiggy, I bought the HD jacket liner last year. I've been thinking about getting heated gloves. After some research, I'm going with the Gerbing G3's. As for my legs, I've been getting by real good with Under Armour cold gear leggings and insulated socks. I might need more since I don't have the road sofa with the fairing and lowers anymore...lol
I have the HD Jacket Liner, Gloves, Pants Liner, Dual Controller, and the Warm and Safe socks. I originally had Gerbings socks, but hated walking on the wires. The only issues I have ever had was I had a glove quite working and took it back. The dealer sent them off for repair and I received a new pair a couple of weeks later.
As for them holding up, I use them quite a bit as I use them on a near daily basis in the winter time during my work as a motorcop.
IMHO the dual controller is a must. When I am only wearing the Jacket Liner and Gloves I will use it to adjust them seperately to keep from sweating. If I use the Pants Liner and Socks I will use the controller to seperate the top from the bottom for adjustment.
I have used this combination with the addition of a bacalava and ridden down to 17*F (constant temp for the day) and was comfortable.
If you ride much in the cold you will never regret the purchase.
I have HD's jacket liner (full sleeves) & gloves. Jacket liner is great! Gloves work great too but they're too bulky. Thinking about chaps or heated leg liners.
