They are both high quality bars. I think it really depends on teh look youa re going for. With winter bearing down on most of the country soon, time has become less of an issue for most people. I sell a fair amount of both of these bars, but the Yaffe bars are more popular.

Love the apes. Thinking about getting them for my SG. Need to clarify a few things before pulling the trigger though. 1. What bar height do you need to be able to use the stock mirrors? 2. In regards to question 1, how much longer cables/wires do I need. 3. With the higher hand position, do you notice a lot more wind and cold on your hands? Thanks for letting me piggy back on this thread!

1. 12" or higher. My 10" are dead center between my eyes and the mirrors, so it's a fair estimate that 9 to 11" would block some or all viewing area. 8" would probably still be low enough to be under the mirrors, if you're not looking at apes, just different bars.
2. Well, wires will reach up to 12" I think, you'll just have to move where the plugs are under the fairing. Figure that anything beyond 12 will need a wire extension.
But clutch/brake cables max out at 10" (and I mean MAX...). So, with the stock SG bars at 7.5", just figure it like this: take the height of the bars and subtract 8...that's how much extension you'll need.
(though I just ordered +4 instead of +2, just to be sure I had decent slack)
