personally- i would still keep the forward most bars... and thats it. IF you were to drop your bike, youd save the bags.

it can be done- my bro in law did it with his 05 Ultra

I have a set I'd sell!!!! I have a Street Glide and I put "on" the saddle bag guards. I thought I'd be able to add the guards onto the existing rail, but I needed to replace the entire system. Make me an offer!!!

I took off those Horizontal rails that wrap around the bags, plugged the holes with rubber grommets, and removed that ugly "bridge girder" looking thing that hangs below the front fender,, looks much cleaner, and easier to clean, not a $ spent,,, pretty simple
{I need to learn to post pics}

Shoot a PM to PeekaBo Bob. He can give you all the info you need to undress a dresser. He has stripped his Ultra and lhas all the parts numbers etc. that you will need.

He is a great guy, and will be glad to help you.

Regards,

Bill

Yep, and it's easy to do.

There's several ways to do it. The saddlebag support is part# 46565-04, and I got it at the dealership for $120.00

I had the same bars as you did. I got the floater setup like Peekaboo Bob. Works well and easy to install. ZOOK
