Fastaire will continue to get my business....6" black below!

I've got a ton of shields, 6" Cee Bailey SSC, 13" Cee Bailey, (2) 9" FastAires, Sunglass and light smoke, (2) 10" FastAire, light smoke and clear, (2) FLST Custom Half Moons, (with wings), a 6" black opaque and a 9" light smoke, and of course the stock 4"er.

Of them all, for smooth soft air and wind protection the 13" Cee Bailey is phenominal, but I switch windsheilds a LOT Second to that is my 9" Fast Aire. It gives great protection as well and get's "close" to the Cee Bailey, but not as good, particularly on a windy day.

Whenever I see guys with 6" shields and lower I'm always inclined to go and swap out my taller shield for one of the shorter ones, but damn if they don't just plain interfere with my riding enjoyment. My past bikes had the option of either going full shield or none and I found that "none" on a softail was better than "short" on a fairing equiped bike.

My question is; do you, and others ride with full faced helmets with the shorties, or some other form of buffetting protection? As much as I try, I'm good at speeds up to 55 or so, but once I'm on the road and push anything over, typically around 75 or 80, the turbulence get's wicked. Or is it just acceptance of the harsher wind issue with the shorties?

Oh yeah...FastAire...outstanding company and product!

I ride with a half helmet, sunglasses and my 6" windshield. It is fine for cruising around on shorter trips. I think 3-4 + hours would be too much. I have an 8" for the longer rides.

Makes sense to me. Guess I need to order a 6" FastAire to round out my collection

Default 8" Light Smoke Fast Aire's "Aero" Re-Curved Polycarbonate Windshield

I have several windscreens, usually ride with my 6" Kuryakin Zombie, which looks great and is fine for short trips and around town, but I'm leaving next week for a 2500+ mile trip from Charleston, SC to St. Joseph, MI and beyond... and back... so I am really hoping this works for me. My major concern is buffeting that cause my glasses to shake, which distorts my vision. The wind splitter 8" and 10" both cause this problem, I am really hoping this new one will work as I have many more trips planned for my SG. Jim was very helpful and I'm proud to support a small company. I will update once I've put some miles on it.

I use an 8" dark gray Fast Aire "Aero" on my 2011 SG (you can see it in my avatar and sig pic). It was a huge improvement over the token 4" stock shield.

Jim was a big help when I called to place my order.
