Default 2010 FLHTCU/ new headers/ emissions

Hello all, I have a 2010 FlHTcu , and the first thing I did was change pipes. Stock headers, Bassani Open BaffleS. The sound is butter, but not loud enough for me, and very hot running. I learned from here that the 2010's have the cat in the headers, and I can get new ones from a number of places. Super!
Here is my question:
Im in Tucson AZ, and have been researching the EPA rules about messing with removing the cat, and of course thats a no-no. Doesnt bother me really, as I have run straight pipes on my past bikes (1976 Flh Electraglide & a 2000 Dyna wide Glide) I never had emissions problem come up.
My question is, If I change to new headers, will I be able to pass emmissions? Or does it come down to paying to switch out headers every time I need testing.
I would do it myself, but I'm disabled & just can't do it anymore.

thx

It's against Federal Law to remove the cat, so technically speaking you won't pass emissons testing.

If your area does not require emissions testing for motorcycles, (most do not), then you MAY be OK. I say "may" because I do not know if you'll run afoul of EPA regulations removing a federal emissions device.

One of the many reasons I love my 09....

My guess is that you'll have to restore the system to original to pass inspection.

Oh yeah - hadnt thought about that...since they became standard in 2010...and an EPA requirement - you're probably screwed if you remove it at all
