I got a 25mm bearing remover from amazon for little over 30 dollars. I just bought the handle and the collet. Motion Pro manufatures it. I removed the bearing with no problems. I got the bearing installer from the below link for ten dollars. Worked like a charm.
Which is more tricky/difficult, pulling or installing the bearing?
How well does Georges tool install the bearings?
Thanks
I have George's tool, so pulling and installing the bearings is equally simple. I am sure you could pound the bearings out with a drift punch and hammer as long as you are very careful not to **** the bearing in the bore. I can imagine pounding this style of bearing into a wheel though I have read of many doing so.
[QUOTE=SpiderPig;7523024]I went to our local Autozone store and they have tools that they loan out with a deposit. They had a blind bearing puller there that worked on a wheel with 25mm bearings. I made a press with 3/4 threaded rod and some washers and bolts for the install. Worked very well for only a couple of bucks. Might check out your local Auto Parts store.[/QUOTE
Thanks I'll head over to O'Reilly's and see if they offer a comparable rental
I lost front bearings couple years ago. When i got home, i found a puller/installer from Pit Posse for less than $100. Bought set of rear wheel bearings and plan to change when I change next rear tire..... check out Pit Posse for pullers.....

I love new members reviving an 8yo post lol, The pit posse works great. Kinda sucks having to spend that much for 5 mins of work but if ya need it ya need it.
