Exhaust Maintenance Question
Ok, so I pulled my exhaust system to gain access to my cam cover to inspect the cam chain tensioners.
When I pulled the exhaust, I couldn't find any of the crush gaskets at the head. I'm assuming they burn up over time?
They are the stock headers and have never been pulled in 61k miles.

They should be in there. They are probably crushed so well that they look like they are part of the port, but if you take something like a dental pick you should be able to carefully pick them. Take care not to nick the exhaust port! I also thought they were not there, but they were.

Well the outer "shoe" had a VERY small groove in it from the chain after 61,000 miles! I ran out of time so I haven't looked at the back tensioner yet.
I tried making an inspection mirror out of a butter knife as one member did but couldn't see it.
