SG you are correct, i do not have a temp guage so i do not know if the bypass opened up and allowed oil through the cooler, I only took it for a 30 min run.
It almost certainly would open after 30 mins, but what you don't know is what the temp was.
If you can try and figure the bore of the hose vs the internal drilling of the fitting. If the fitting is smaller or same I would not bother going back - I am sure it will be fine.
If you can get a vernier in and measure the drilling through the fitting and compare the 2 line types. If the guy making the hoses was working on the assumption that the external thread of the fitting is the same therefore internal drilling is same then that is a very dangerous assumption that needs checking
