Default grinding noise from tranny

i just did a topend rebuild with little over 300 miles on it, now the tranny is making a grinding noise but is only in 1st and 2nd gear, sounds like its in the primary, anyone have an idea what it might be?

Could be a loose compensator nut, I had an intermittent grind a few months back, cost me 400.00 for a new stator, which was damaged by the loose compensator nut. Good Luck, hope it's a simple fix.

Sounds like the compensator nut has loosened up on you.

You need to stop driving it before it causes some high-dollar damage in there.Look at everything really close in the primary. It shouldn't be hard to find.

Are you absolutely certain that you didn't accidentally "drop anything" into the lower end when rebuilding the top end?

I would adjust the front motor mount. Mine did that after the dealer was trying to find a vibration. Loosened the front mount and ran the motor then tightened it back up and the noise was gone
