Default swapping out electra glide seat

i have an 96 electra glide and would very much like to swap the seat for a corbin seat that i can put a backrest on as i have lower back issues. i have read everything that i can find on the subject but cannot figure out what seats will fit the electra glide i was looking to use a road king seat but i have no idea which years will work on my glide so any help would be awesome.
i know i will need to get the extension as the roadking seat isn't as long as the glide seat. just don't know what years are interchangeable and which aren't. and which ones are best to use.
thanks....
mike

You may want to try a police seat with a backrest.

96 and a few years older will fit your bike. 97 -07 seats are the same but do not fit yours. harley had a frame change between 96 and 97.

I ride an 04 with a Corbin and back rest - I live close enough to their factory to use their ride in appoitment and get a set up tha really fits ME... be very careful in getting a corbin or any seat with the back rest - if the seat does Not fit YOU - it will be even worse on your back.

I used this for several years before I went to the back rest - it would prolong my riding day by HOURS and felt great

Default corbin seat vs others

i have had a corbin seat on three different bike my 97 suzuki marauder, my 95 fatty, and my 03 sporty, and have ridden many bikes with many different seats the closest to the corbin for comfort and the backrest option is the mustang but my problem with them is that they usually really wide which is nice in your back side but not so much on the inner thighs when setting with feet on the ground during traffic. but at this point i am having trouble finding seats for my 96 flht it seems that most places don't stock a seat so old so i am stuck with used which i have no problem with but not many out there and not so sure of what will exactly interchange or fit or what ever you call it i need a to know what i should be looking for what years and from what bikes. i have been to many sites and asked many times but it seems many people have done this swap but no definite answers are to be had on specifics.
thanks from the new fella

I run a road king seat on my 1999 FLHT with the hotop dash extension.

To do a little search for you, call me crazy, I went to the corbin site.
Scroll down and low and behold you will see which seats fit your bike near the bottom of the page.
http://www.corbin.com/harley/baggers/

The road king was made from 94 up.
So in your case you will be looking for a 94-96 road king seat if that's what you want to run.
And you will need to extend your dash or get the little black plastic cover from the dealership.

friend of mine has a 92 ultra and used a new style seat, with some minor mods said it took about an hour to make it fit.
