Just looked at the old IPB @ the servicing dealer, and both the race and the roller bearing looked and felt good (if I was paying for the part, I wouldn't have changed it). There was a spot on the race OD between the where the seal contacts and where the rollers contact (that's why they replaced it), but didn't look like anything that could cause a leak or bearing vibration. No worn down roller area, or cut marks from the seal lip on the race surface. Anyway, vibe is still there.
I got the same exact vibration issues, 2500-3200 rpm under a slight load goes completely away under deceleration. Sometimes I think a feel a thumping also. The dealer has already replaced the motor mount, I am going to try to get him to pull the cam cover and check crankshaft run out. I only have a couple of dealerships in the country and they are all owned by the same guy. Let me know if they ever find the problem.
you may want to change your fuel filter and check for pin holes on the high pressure line going from the fuel pump to the fuel filter were it is routed under the hinged bracket as the line rubs on the bracket causing pin holes,if the bike is running lean due to fuel starvation this could cause a vibration,at the very least it is good maintenence, good luck
Thanks CND.RG. I'll keep that in mind when I replace the fuel filter. Although this vibe feels mechanical in nature, and I was able to roll up to 100 mph in 6th w/ passenger the other day, so I don't believe there's a hp issue w/ lower fuel pressure or flow.
Please keep posting. I have the same issue with my 09 ultra. I have had it to 5 dealers and one independant. Last dealer it was at it was there for six weeks. Checkes swingarm assembly, rear wheel, replaced two motor mounts, checked crankshaft runout (4 thousandths. I hope that is good, I dont know) even loosened motormounts and ran the bike, retighten. The idea was to reseat the motor. after all that HARLEY DAVIDSON told them to stop working on the bike. I talked to customer service and they said that 'THEY WERE NOT PURSUING THE MATTER ANY FURTHER'. so now the vibration is worse than before and they cant fix it.
I too have this same issue as well, so please keep us posted. I have it in any gear and notice that the vibe is more noticable at lower rev's under heavy acceleration than higher ones and I too feel its a mechanical issue. It never did it before the SE comp upgrade, not trying to say it's the compensator but when I first tried out the new comp install I'm sure it wasnt there and think it started to develop around 300 miles later, but I'm not too sure, but its very noticable, hasnt gotten any worse but isnt getting better. It does go away when cruising along
My 2010 has a weird droning vibe that didnt used to be there..????? Under power. Pull in clutch . coast down hill , it not there,, seems when under load//// wtf ?????
