ok...cams and pushrods arrived today and waiting on the d & d fatcat and then off to the installer.
next project is painting my inner fairing. hd has discontinued the aerosol paints and there is no black pearl to be located. color-rite has it along with clearcoat and all the extras needed.
question is has anyone painted their inner fairing with aerosol and did you use colorite? paint will cost about 100 bucks for paint, clear, primer, etc.
just wondering what your results were...
i wouldnt spray with a aerosol u wont get good results. go to the local auto paint store they have the paint codes and they could match the color for u. if you dont know how to spray with a spray gun take it to the body shop for them to paint it for u. u can sand it yourself and save yourself the money they shouldnt charge any more then a $100.00 cuz your supplying the paint and u sanded it good luck.
let me know how you make out doing this...........i had my dealer send out my side covers to color match to the birch white.....4 times they had to be painted over, finally settle on them, but there still a very slight tint off in color. was thinking of having my inner painted to match too,but my birchwhite paint through HD is back ordered status,no release date either, have a brand new inner fairing and cap sitting here for my bike, was cheap enough through zanotti's (107.72 inner/27.50 cap +shipping) it didnt make sense to look on e-bay for a used one to paint
do a search on ebay for inner fairing and you will find the 2 different painters, they will paint your stuff as well, they are reasonable and good but only do standard HD colors as they keep the HD paint in stock
