Default SE 103 kit compresion ratio Question.

What is the compresion ratio of a SE 103 kit with the flat top pistons? Is it the same as the stock 103 bikes like the limited etc? If it is not what is the differance ? Are the pistons in the stock dished? I know a lot of questions.

I have the PRO stg 2 103 kit with cast flat tops. Supposedly my compression is 0.5 higher at 10:1 than the stock 103 powerpack build according to the service mgr at my local dealer. The piston part number was the only difference as I was told. Second hand info from him, but he looked up the part numbers as I was told, and that was the only difference. Tolerance stack ups, head gasket thickness, squish, etc all contribute to final compression from bike to bike...

Sound like harley dealer talk , If all the parts are harley parts , head gaskets, pistons etc. are the same then the compresion should the same.

I'm told my SE 103 kit has 9.6 to 1 with the 255's. Changing the headgasket to the 30,000th version creates about 9.8 to 1 which is supposed to be about the max that will run on today's version of pump gas without pinging.

I'm having Baisley work my heads over and he suggested about at 9.8 to 1 to be good for my build anyway.

parts can all be the same and there still will be variances. Heads often cc differently ie one stock head might be 85cc and the next 89cc. They do differe that much. Also one set of pistons can be at 0 deck from the factory and the next down in the hole.
