Helmet Hot Spot!
Have a new helmet, the Evoline Shark II. One of the finest helmets that I've ever owned and perfect for my style of riding.
Unfortunately, it gives me a hot spot in the center of my forehead! (The helmet only comes in a "round" and my head is "oval".)
I'm thinking of trimming down the styrofoam liner a little at a time right where the hot spot develops.
Has anyone else had a situation like this and how did you correct it? (Can't return the helmet as it is now "used".)

I found a way to get behind the liner on my Bell 3/4 and used a knife to shave a little styrofoam out of the forehead area.Go slow, take a little and maybe wear it a while. You can always trim a bit more but can't replace it.
Of course none of the above is DOT approved but personally I'm thinking my helmet's just as safe,I know it's comfortable.

Same thing here! I also took a Mag flashlight and used the screw on end to rub the foam down as hard as I could push on it. Didn't have to pull the liner out, and it springs back a little if you over do it. Couple of passes and it was good to go.

Like some of the other replies, I would rub the styrofoam down rather than cutting it. That's what we did for our ACH (advanced combat helmet) when breaking in a new liner. Use the maglight end over the spot where it hurts. Good luck!
You mean compress it inward toward the shell?
