Default 2011 CVO Street Glide Speakers

I've been planning on swapping out the speakers on my 2010 Ultra Classic and had pretty much decided on the Boom Audio speaker upgrades. Then I noticed the speakers on the new 2011 CVO Street Glide. It has fairing speakers, and then, where two of my guages currently are, there are tweeters installed.

I don't know that I want to lose a couple of guages, although I am pretty sure I could lose the voltmeter and the air temp guages and would not miss them, but was wondering about these speakers and if they would sound significantly better than the other Boom Audio Speakers, or if anyone has put them in an Ultra Classic.

I don't see them anywhere on the MoCo site, or in the catalog.....

Any input??

Thanks! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and got to ride!!

Will those tweeters fit in the holes where your stock mirrors are??Assuming you have stock mirrors built in the fairing? Im thinking about putting tweeters in those holes and putting custom mirrors on my bars....any ideas or suggestions

You could get the Hog Tunes tweeter pod and retain your gauges. Tweeter pod would replace your CVO dash pad and you could have it color matched to your inner fairing or I had mine covered in leather to look like the HD dash pad.

TexasJR, another fact to consider about the fairing speakers on the CVO SG is speaker impedance. The speakers in the fairing lowers are 1 ohm impedance which suggests the fairing speakers are also, and may be incompatible with your 2 ohm system.

Hope you get the answers you need. I'd like to see someone do this mod, but given the costs involved, knowing what's involved is essential. Check-out the CVO SG service manual supplement for more information.
