Need some help. I have yet to receive my shop manual for my '06 FLHTCUSE but want to get on with doing some mod's.
A while ago I followed the information on this forum and rewired the passing lamps on my '03FLHT so that they would stay on when the high beam was used.
Has anybody done this type of mod on an '06 FLHTCU?
If you have "Would you please post the information or send me it in a PM?"
There is a drawback to that schematic. If you are like me, and leave your passing lamp switch in the on position so you don't forget to turn them on, don't plan on parking your bike, and enjoy a picnic with your lady, and listen to your Harley's stereo, because your lights are still on unless you manually shut them off using the passing lamp switch. You will soon have a dead battery, because when you turn your switch to accessory to listen to the radio, your passing lights come on (unless you have shut them off using the passing lamp switch). Ask me how I know.
A better hook up is to wire them to the feed wire for the headlight (the factory has them only on the low beam side). The headlight does not come on with the accessory switch, hence, the passing lights will not either.
Before someone says this will overload the circuit, consider there is only 10 watts difference between low and high beams.

I wired mine independently with their own relay and then spliced into the orange accessory wire so nothing can get overloaded, not that it really will.
I wired mine to the accessory circuit. If for some reason (I hope it never happens) the headlight fuse blows at night, my passing lights should still be on.

Umm not to be a wiener, but thats what extra fuzes and flashlights are for. Ask me how I know after a 25 mile ride down the mountain road at night with only my flashers working.
Got a '10 FLHTCU I'd like to do that mod to also! I hate having them go off when I want the most light I can get, ie HIGHBEAMS....Seems kinda backwards, but anyway, Same wiring layout for it I would guess. Shouldn't be hard to do, think that will be a weekend project! Thanks for posting the info.
