Default Saddlemen Deluxe Saddlebag Chaps

Has anyone tried the Saddlemen Deluxe Saddlebag Chaps? They look very functional with the removable storage on top. If you have them, do they get in the way of the trunk when in place? How much do the bags really hold? Any other pros/cons?

Thanks,
Cale

I drove to Saddleman to look at them in person and was Not impressed. Great idea but poor construction and design of bags and attaching straps. Several buckles on showroom wall already broken.

I have them and they work fine. They don't interfere with the tourpack but in order to open the saddlebag you have to remove them so maybe they do depending on your perspective. Removal is really easy though, you just flip 2 catches and off they come. I use them for light stuff that I need quick access too like glasses, gloves, wallet etc. I wouldn't advise packing anything heavy in them because they only secure front and back and they shift. Every gas stop I check the straps and closures then re-snug as needed. Are they perfect, no. Are they worth $150,yes. The other benefit is that you always have a protective cover for your saddlebags.

Unlike Homer I found them to be a real PITA to use. If you have a tour pak on the bike you can't fully expand them and you do need to take the bags off to open your saddle bags. You'll notice they only show them on Road Kings in all their photographs. I would keep looking, but I don't know of any saddlebag storage sacs that work well on a bike with a tour pak.

Thanks, I think I may take a gander at the Mustang covers. I like their products. I do not really need the storage, just thought it was a good idea incase I did.
