The air pressure of forward motion helps keep the shield on the bike. There have been stories of being parked on the side of the hiway when a semi comes blowing by and the turbulence from the truck pulls the shield off the bike.

A cure:

Another thumbs up for the brukus ShieldShackle. I actually had my windshield blow off when I was parked under a bridge waiting out the storm from hell. A great piece of mind knowing the winshhield is not going to be stolen or blown off. I have several of their products and all top quality.

I questioned how mine went too so the last time I was at the dealer, I looked at a new bike and mine are exactly where they should be.

Before you put your windshield back on grease the grommets with a little bit of dielectric grease.

When i know i am not going to take it off for a while, i secure the wireforms in place with zip ties.
Prevents the wind or an opportunist from making off with it.

as long as windshield is all the way down and tighten, nothing to really worry about.

I pretty much ignore the springs.
