Looks great! I'm doing the same to mine. I just ordered the detachable hardware from Lakeshore while they had the free shipping deal. Still trying to decide on a solo seat. Probably C&C.

Would you (or anyone) happen to have a part # for those chrome magnetic caps?

Your welcome! I'm turning my RoadKing into a fairing-less StreetGlide- I've already got the SG seat and backrest on it. Now I gotta get a new rear turnsignal mounting unit - I've already got the bullet style turn signals

As far as your decipher of the HD alphabet - HDFLHXK works for me.

I found the parts on the Harley website but there are 3 to choose from.

48035-09 Small Chrome
48218-10 Short Chrome
48220-10 Large Chrome

and are $24.95 regardless of size. What I can't figure out is the difference between the three. I'm going to the stealer later today so I'll ask them and I do plan to get them for mine. Oh, and it says $24.95 (Pair) but 4 are required so not sure if you have to buy 2 pair or what.

Thanks. I agree with you it would look much better. Question for you though - what did you do with the passenger headset jack/cable? I basically followed directions in the kit and it is attached to one of the docking points. This keeps me from installing the docking point cover. That headset connector is ridiculously long which makes it hard to stuff under the seat.

I did the same thing that you did but did not like the plate sticking up on that bar above the tail light. Here is what I did with my '09. I kept the LP bracket that came with theQD kit but put a Custom Dynamics Run/Brake light on it.
