SEMPER,
Tell your buddy and wife not to give up. My brothers wife has diagnosis of type 4 but is still going after numerous chemo and radiation treatments. We have ridden togother for years also. I had the same reaction as did my brother when he had to tell me. See if you can help him for getting second oppinion or even accepting what treatments they can give her. If its money, give them a fund raiser with all your riding buddies or what ever. Don't give up. There are some that make it. We still hold on to everyday like its her last, but I swear attitude has a lot to do with it. God bless you and your friends and let him know the riding community are praying for them.
So sorry to hear this, cancer affects so many of us. It was the fact that so many of my friends were diagnosed that led me back to riding after 35 years. We need to live every minute as we never know how many we have left. Don't give up, get that second opinion and best of luck.
Sorry to read this. This type of thing you never get used to hearing. I've lost friends and family to cancer over the years, it might be the strongest foe we are facing today. The only thing you can do is be there for your brother, be his rock. Prayers for all you you today.
I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for my riding buddy and his wife. Went over to their house today and they are doing alright. They had a family meeting last night and their son's thankfully convinced them to get other opinions. They are very close and have a lot of faith....who knows maybe well all be packing saddle bags again. For a bunch of gnarly old harley riders...you guys sure gave a lot of thoughtful and good advice. Normally I would never have made a message for this, but happened to be reading some posts when my buddy called. Seemed like the thing to do at the time...glad I did. By the way I shared some of the replies with them this morning, really picked both of them up....thanks again,,,good riding.
It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed. ~Author Unknown
