I know winter is just starting for most, but looking for some info on AZ bike 2011 week. It would be a 14hr ride for me down. Not really a rally guy, but have heard some good things about this one. Plus supposed to be some real good riding around there or on the way there. Whats the 411 on things to do, places to stay, and do I need to reserve stuff early. THX
The week prior to Bike Week is actually much more entertaining than actual Bike Week typically. The dealers and various venues such as The Hideaway also have things going during Bike Week and pre-Bike Week.
The Bike Week event itself seems to be a big vendor-fest where you pay to get in so that people can show you the latest things that they have for sale.
That said, I tend to stay away from the Bike Week event itself, having seen it already, and spend my time at the other events put on at other locations.
I don't know if they're going to charge again this year, but Hacienda Harley Davidson seems to be the only dealership that charges an entrance fee to get into their events.
Buddy Stubbs Harley Davidson, Chester's Harley Davidson, and Arrowhead Harley Davidson tend to put on good events. Chester's usually manages to book some good bands.
The only bar parties I hit up are Steelhorse Saloon and The Hideaway parties. I'm a regular at The Hideaway, so I gotta show my support for Mark and Anna.....hehehe Plus they put on a hell of a bash.
