Default Ordered my bars!

Just ordered my 12" Yaffe monkey bars from a shop here in ft. collins, CO. Installed I'm paying $650.00 plus tax. Figured that was an offer I couldn't refuse. I'll post pics after the install.

Hopefully I like this mod as much as the extensions I put on from you guys.......they kick ***. You wouldn't think that little bit of room would do much good but it makes a world of difference.

Thunder Mountain would probably charge over 650 for just labor. Front range cycle is doing it. $300.00 for everything? I think cost on these bars is just below 300 so I have no idea how they are doing that deal that cheap. Everywhere I have checked wants approximately 300 to 350 just for installation not including cables or bars.

Why so much to install bars? Is it the internal wiring of them or something?

From what I've been told it is appr. an 8 hr. job. With most of these shops these days with $95.00 hourly rates for labor that will put you quite high up there for installation pricing. I'm not sure which part takes the longest but I'm sure the internal wiring takes some patience and time. I was gonna tackle the install myself but work has picked up and I can't find time to do anything, and they gave me a great price I believe for the whole package so I just decided to jump on it!

I think that the monkey bars are right at $400, and then you gotta factor in a longer clutch and brake cable and line, not too mention probably a new longer TBW.
So for $650 RB3 you done real good!! I'd say that you got the steal/deal of the year.

FWIW; I have right @$400 dollars in my Wild 1 575's and new TBW and extended clutch cable. I didn't have to use the longer brake line because the 575's only put you up 2 inches and back 2.5. I have not installed them yet..that's coming.

I'm hoping that I can still use my fairing mirrors as I think that any other configuration just does not look right. When you got mirrors that stick up over the fairing I think that it looks lame and like bug antennas, no matter how cool your bars are, and I don't think that I would want to go with Grip end mounted 2 inch mirrors either. JMO.

No matter how cool your mirrors look they still don't look good way up in the air over your fairing, and they look odd if you hang them upside down, and it's wierd and maybe a little/lot unsafe if you have to look under your arms. It's real hard to make them work.
I want to be able to keep my hands in the fairing pocket.

That's why I went with the 575's.
I had initially went with the Santee's but your hands are right over the fairing..
Good luck with your choices and show us some pics when you're done.
