I have been using it with power cable and headphone out to aux in. No problems , no the problem is in the griffin unit.
onward/upward!
Thanks, Mike
If you give me a week or so I will post about the solution I am currently implementing using the Griffin Autopilot, but basically I am mounting it in the hole previously occupied by the Air Temp Gauge and bring the AUX out the back of the HK headset
Posted on a device by Griffin call Autopilot. It does exactly what you have asked for. Fits in the standard cig lighter socket but because it has a compact head it doesn't dent the tank.
A cable runs to the AUX port and a second cable connects to the main iPod connector
I've been using one of these for quite a while now, and it works pretty good. I keep my nano in the windshield bag and set it to shuffle. If a song comes on that I don't want to hear, a quick touch to the unit in the cig lighter socket and a new song starts. You can also pause the music if you want. It is a little easier to use without gloves, but the only gloves I have a real problem with are REALLY thick cold weather gloves, which I seldom need.
Check out the iJet, all function RF remote with a big button access for using it with gloves. $30 bucks
Mimo.
Just ordered one of these for my roadking project. Ill see how it works out. I have a sinster dash for the ipod, but I think Im going to mount the ipod in the bag, and put the remote on the tank dash since it has bigger button and is not a touch screen.
I just make sure if I am going on a ride I set my Ipod to a playlist that is long and that I can rock out to. No adjusting or anything...and if I have to make a change I can do it at a peee-pee break! But yeah gloves and ipods dont mix too well...lol.
I used aoubt 25c worth of velcro. Mounted my nano to a small portion of the Mirror and ran a aux cable to the aux input. Use the shuffle mode and can easly reach up and FF to the next song. If it starts to rain just pull it of and stick in in the wishild bag
