Not BS. I have one, and notice a substantial diff when it's not there. No, it doesn't block the wind like a shield, but it does bump the air upward quite a bit. While I have never rode one, I bet it's a lot like a bike with a visor fairing or quarter fairing.

Oh heck yeah. On nice days when I don't want my windshield, my blanket makes a perfect windbreak. It's a solid six inches tall and eases pressure on my torso. Greatly increases ride distance before I want a break.

I have never thought of it as a wind break, I have had a rolled up blanket on my bikes since I was 16. my dad had one on his bike, he had some tools rolled up in it and said if he ever needed to sleep somewhere at least he had a blanket or a pillow! haha a few years ago I started noticing more people with them on their bikes but it turned in to more of a fad, but I have a little reasoning behind mine.

Mine is crashed and sitting in a repair shop waiting for repair.....$8200 worth, all because a fellow club member doesn't know how to f'n pay attention. He's a newbie too. So f'n pissed. Not much hope for this summer.
