First of all,
2008 RKC
Full stage 1 installed in july '10 when I purchased, no dyno tune.
Planning se255 cam upgrade in Jan. due discount.
Total cost for buying cams and pushrods, install and proper dyno tune $850, about 8 hrs approx.
I know I can get cams cheaper elsewhere but I like new stuff installed and HD parts.
I also trust the service tech to give it a proper tune.
And since I can't ride to the dealer due to snow and ice they will pick up and deliver.
THX.

Reason: update
Sounds reasonable, most northern dealers give a break during the winter to try & keep the shop busy. What kind of tuner or are they just going to do a download?
Don't have specs. of the dyno machine but the tech said it take about 2-3 hrs to get it tuned in properly. As it sits now the bike gets really great gas mileage, 45-50, but definitely doesn't perform power wise as it should. AFR maybe a little too high. Shouldn't have to downshift to 3rd just to pass a semi at 65 decently. I've tried in 4th gear with less that stellar results and 5th was totally worthless to say the least.

15% discount on parts and labor til 31 Jan 2011.
As previously asked, find out from the dealer how he's going to tune your bike. If he's telling you 2-3 hours time a device is going to be used to do it. That will be an additional cost.
Other than checking on the tune labor - sounds like a good deal. Wait & see & decide from there...good luck!
Yes you need to find out what they are tuning it with. If they are going to include dyno time they will need a tuner device. Most likely a SEST but they cost over $400 alone. Other then that it sounds like a good deal.
Sorry that's been awhile but here is the update for my SE255 cam upgrade. Not too shabby for a total of $881. 2008 RKC 96", stock head pipes, HD stage 1 kit, VH oval slip-on mufflers, SE super tuner(orange). Cam upgrade included SE255 cams, adjustable pushrods, and dyno. HP 83, TQ 97.3. AFR 13.02 wot, 14.3 cruise. Everything is right where i need it to be for my style of riding.
$850 for a cam and install ain't that bad, but I agree what are they gonna dyno tune it with?
It's an upgrade of some thing too. A SEST is about $400 just by itself without labor.
