Default black powerder coating...

Ok...I'm thinking about taking the plunge and doing some black powerder coating on fork lowers and the Nacelle on my Road King. I'll probably do my enging guards as well. My question is this....how is the wear and tear on the forks with bugs and rocks splattering them up all the time. I know I know...I'm suppose to dodge all that but hey....I do the best I can!! I know the chrome is fairly easy to maintain with all that bug goo on them. The engine guard has the clutch cable rubbing against it at certain points...is wear there to be expected or is there a way to re-route the cable. Just looking for some heads up on all of it before I get committed in my yearly winter changes. Thanks!

I haven't had any problems with mine. Actually had the bike tilt over to the engine guard and it didn't chip or anything. Just gave it a scratch. Like he said if it's done right it's pretty durable.

Powder coat is tough, painting the lowers helps pull the entire bike together IMO.

That's how they "black-out" the front end (powder coating).
